Co-Opera will continue its Intermezzo Series in 2017 with an in-depth project of Puccini’s La Boheme. The project will be led by distinguished Italian baritone Mario Bellanova.

Baritone Mario Bellanova began his study of singing at the Venice Music Conservatory and continued his Opera formation, including the German repertoire, at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. He made his Opera debut in Germany with the role of Taddeo in L’Italiana in Algiers in Cologne (Rossini), followed shortly after by Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart). 
 
In recent years Mario moved to Adelaide and has performed Germont (La Traviata, Verdi) where he was nominated for the Helpmann Award. His latest role was Scarpia (Tosca, Puccini) with SOSA at the Adelaide Festival, 2016.
